Otter AC in 73-60 win over Colombo BC
BASKETBALL: Otter AC beat Colombo BC by 73 points to 60 in a men's
'A' division match of the Colombo super league basketball tournament
played at Depot Police Courts on Sunday after leading 42-31 at half
time.
Shanaka Perera (20) and Gayan Meedeniya (20) did the bulk of the
scoring for otter AC ably supported by Chamath Serasinghe (12) while
Rasika Prabath (19), Mithila Abeysekera (15) and Roshan Randima (13)
excelled for the losers.
Police beat Colombo bulls by 73 points to 60 after leading 30-23 at
the breather in another men's 'A' division match played at Depot Police
courts on Sunday.
Sujeewa Wijeweera (18), Sujith Master (16) and Vajira Kumarasinghe
(15) stood out for the winners while Thisara Kolabarachi (26) and Ranil
Godawtte (10) played valiantly for the losers. St. Eugene's scored on
easy 66-33 win over Moratuwa BC by 66 points to 33 after leading 29-15
at half time in a men's 'C' division match played at the same venue on
Sunday.
Pradeep Peiris (16) Rinzly Nissanika (15) and Shalin Fernando (14)
were the main scorers for St. Eugene's while Rochana Fernando (13) and
Samson de Mel (09) stood out for the losers.
Wattala Basketball club beat Air Force by 83 points to 60 in a men's
'A' Division match of the Colombo Super League Basketball Tournament
played at Depot Police Courts on Saturday after leading 43-37 at half
time.
Prageeth Pushpakumara (24) and Niroshan Denushke (26) played a grand
game for Wattala BC while Asanka Perera (34) and Ravi Dodangoda (13)
played valiantly for the losers.
Nugegoda cagers scored a hard fought 77 points to 65 win over
Buffaloes BC after leading 34-32 in a men's 'B' Division match played at
the same venue. Chaminda Jayasiri (28), Heyez Haroon (11) and Ajanthan
Balendran (12) did the bulk of the scoring for Nugegoda cagers while
Sandun Ratnapriya (18) and Rinaz Hassen (16) stood out for the losers.
Cambrians beat Kelaniya University by 57 points 26 after leading
36-14 in a men's (C) Division match played at Depo to Police Courts.
Chaminda Nonis (19) and Ruzri Haneed (18) had an excellent game for
Cambrians while G.A.C.C.P. Amarabandu (16) gave of his best for Kelaniya
University.
