Two PCs, civilian injured in grenade attack

VAVUNIYA: Two Police Constables and a civilian sustained injuries when a LTTE cadre lobbed a hand grenade at a police post in Ammasi garage area in Vavuniya yesterday, a spokesman for the Media Centre for the National Security said.

According to him a motorist suspected to be a LTTE cadre hurled a hand grenade at the police post injuring two PCs and a civilian. Police retaliated the attack and the LTTE cadre fled from the area.

Meanwhile, a dead body of a civilian was found in Kattarusinnakulam on Sunday at around 12.00 p.m, Vavuniya police said. The Vavuniya police is conducting the investigation.
