Korean assistance to set up wind power plant

COLOMBO: Korea has promised assistance for Sri Lanka to set up a 1200 megawatt power plant utilising wind power.

A visiting Korean delegation led by Ae Kwon Yoo gave this assurance when they met Power and Energy Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne at his Ministry on January 26.

The delegation said that wind power could be utilised as a source of energy on a very large scale and they hoped to conduct a feasibility study in Sri Lanka for setting up a 1200 mega watt power plant according to CEB standard specifications.
