Assault on electricity depot Chief leaves Ragama residents in the dark

RAGAMA: Areas coming under Ragama Electricity Depot has been without electricity for the whole day yesterday (January 22) owing to a undeclared stoppage of work by the workers attached to the Ragama Depot. Sources said that the Officer in Charge of the Ragama office has been assaulted by a local politician and the workers have decided to stop work in protest.

While the residents of the respective area who were without electricity condemn the attacking of the officer, they ask whether it was correct to punish the consumers and villages by not supplying electricity for which they have paid money. Consumers say that they had to undergo many difficulties without electricity.
