Essay competition

COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka-China Society in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka has organised an essay competition for the students of O/L and A/L in all three languages.

They are invited to send in their certified essays to the Organiser, Sri Lanka-China Society, Essay Competition, Weera Mawatha, Subuthipura, Battaramulla, on or before February 15.

The competition is organised to enhance and encourage the writing skills of schoolchildren. The essay is to be written under the topic of "Fifty Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Sri Lanka and Peoples of Republic of China."

The applicants along with the essay should send in their full name, the address of the School/College, home address, contact numbers, the grade and the age, written on a separate sheet of paper.

The winners of the competition in each medium will receive cash prizes, and consolation prizes, other valuable gifts and certificates from the Society and the Chinese Embassy in Colombo at a ceremony to be held in this connection.

The first three winners of each medium will be awarded prizes and consolation prizes.
