EDEX exhibition

COLOMBO: EDEX 2007, the National Higher Education and Careers EXPO in Sri Lanka, organised by the Royal College Union, opened yesterday and ends on 21 at the BMICH International Exhibition Centre, Colombo.

A secondary event will be held at Queen's Hotel, Kandy on January 23 and 24, 2007. The event is endorsed by the Presidential Secretariat, Education Ministry, Ministry of Vocational and Technical Training and Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has signed up as the Strategic Partner.

The vision behind the expo is to 'to empower the Sri Lankan youth to be globally competitive'.

Three main pavilions featuring Domestic Education, International Education and Careers/Recruitment Segment encompassing diverse options in post-secondary, graduate and postgraduate fields will be on show at EDEX 2007.

Over 200 Higher learning institutions and Universities were represented from countries such as the United Kingdom, the USA, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, India directly or their agents.

The Singaporean and Indian institutions would be targeting Sri Lankan students to make the respective countries the preferred destination for education.

Exhibitors present will assist focused visitors to make clear and informed decisions on upgrading their academic qualifications.
