State art and sculpture festival

COLOMBO: Works of sculpture for the State Art and Sculpture Festival jointly conducted by the Cultural Affairs Department and the Sri Lanka Arts Council will be received at the National Art Gallery, Colombo from February 7 to 10 daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Cultural Affairs Department said in a release.

The festival will be held in the following categories, creative, portrait, landscape, rural copying, colour systems, image and installation.Candidates should be over 18 years and could submit their creations on any topic or medium. Creations should be originals not submitted for any contest before.

Candidates should forward a 2 x 2 1/2 inches sizes photograph (bust), bio-data and a short description/citation about the creation along with the application. A candidate could forward more than one creation but each creation should be accompanied by a separate application.

The exhibition of the winning creations will be held at the National Art Gallery from May 25 to 29. The award ceremony will be held at the John de Silva Memorial Hall, Colombo on May 25 at 4.00 p.m.
