Kingswood pile up 333/9

CRICKET: A quick-fire knock of 61 not out with 9 fours and 1 six off 58 balls by tail ender Sajith Atulugama helped Kingswood College to make merry and total 333 for 9 declared in their School Lemanade Cricket Tournament match against St. Sylvester's College, Kandy which began at Police Grounds, Kandy yesterday.

The match will be continued today at 9.30 a.m.

Kingswood College taking first lease of the wicket were helped through by Prasad Senaratne 51 (9 fours, 93 balls) and M. Bandaranayaka 56 (10 fours, 69 balls) which helped them to move upto 229 for 7 before No. 9 batsman Sajith Atulugama scored his breezy knock to enable them to total 333 for 9 wickets before applying the closure.

At close St. Sylvester's had replied with 63 for 1. Rajitha Wickremarachchi hitting 39 not out with 8 fours.

Kingswood College 333 for 9 declared in 85 overs (P.B. Senaratne 51, A.M. Seneviratne 11, K.E. Silva 15, Asiri Amerasinghe 44, M. Bandaranayake 56, C.B. Abeyakoon 33, Sameera Wijesinghe 34, Sajith Atulugama 61 not out C. Ranaweera 3 for 69, R. Jayatissa 3 for 67).

St. Sylvester's College 63 for 1 in 20 overs at close (Rajitha Wickremarachchi 39 not out, E. Alwis 13).
