Request to observe two minutes silence

COLOMBO: The Disaster Management and Human Rights Ministry has requested all temples, mosques, kovils and churches to chime their bells and observe two minutes silence between 9.25 am and 9.27 am on December 26 as a mark of respect to those who died in the 2004 Tsunami.

Vehicles on the roads at the said time are requested to stop and join the masses remembering those who had died in the tsunami.
