Tiger killed, another injured

VAVUNIYA: An LTTE cadre was killed and another injured when home guards in Ullukkulam, Vavuniya repulsed a Tiger attack last morning.

According to Director General Home Guard Force Admiral Sarath Weerasekara, during the wee hours of yesterday, 10 armed LTTE cadres entered Ullukkulam to attack villagers and home guards in a bunker protecting villagers.

"The home guards successfully retaliated the attack, killing a Tiger cadre and injuring another. Later, Army reinforcement arrived at the scene forcing the attackers fled the area. There were no casualties among the home guards," Admiral Weerasekara said.
