Indices move up marginally

BOURSE: The indices moved up marginally but the turnover remained low as the lacklustre performance of the market continued.

The All Share Price Index closed at 2,700.68 moving up by 4 points and the Milanka Price Index gained 10 points to close at 3,673.17 points.

Analysts said that the lack of investor interest in the market activities is not surprising as the festive season is approaching and those who were actively buying during the latter part of last month would be looking to make profits.

However, there was some interest in Telecom sector shares. 990,800 Sri Lanka Telecom shares traded but the share remained flat. Dialog also closed flat with 398,700 shares being traded.
