NDB bank as principal agent for western union

MONEY TRANSFER: Western Union money transfer services appointed NDB bank as a principal agent for its services last week. "Western Union money transfer services are available through all NDB Bank branches islandwide to customers who want to transfer money from abroad."

Country Director, South and East India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives, Western Union India Ratheesh Kumar, said.

"NDB Bank is the third agent of Western Union in Sri Lanka. We are already joined with another two banks including People's Bank in Sri Lanka. Across 200 countries we have 285,000 Western Union agents. In Sri Lanka we provide Western Union money transfer services through 800 agents," he said.

"As per the Central Bank of Sri Lanka approximately US $ 2 billion money is transferred to Sri Lanka.

Money transfer is an effective instrument to any country's growth. lot of money comes to Sri Lanka from workers employed in different foreign countries," Ratheesh said.
