TTSC Swimming on December 10
SWIMMING: The Sri Lankan Airlines sponsored, Silver Jubilee
Travel Trade Sports Club Men's & Womens Swimming Championships 2006 will
be held on Sunday, 10 December at the D.S. Senanayake College Pool,
commencing 1.00 pm. Sri Lankan Airlnes is sponsoring the championship
for the sixth successive year.
They have already sponsored the Soccer-Sevens, Netball Championships
and the five-a-side Basket Ball for the Travel Trade Sports Club.
The meet will be conducted according to the rules of FINA on a team
Championship basis in the under mentioned categories.
Novices: Open to those who have not won any place at swimming meets
approved by NASU held in the island and to swimmers who were not won at
this meet in 2004 and 2005. Veterans - Open to men 45 years and over and
women over 35 years as at 30 November 2006.
Open Championship: The Sri Lankans Airlines, the overall team
Champions since 1996 will once again participate in all 34 events to be
conducted for men & women.
The other events will be the invitation relays for clubs and schools
and the invitation exhibition 100m. free style by the current national
swimmers.
The other teams participating along with the Sri Lankans are: Confifi
Group Hotels, Hilton Colombo Residence, Golden Sun Resort Kalutara,
Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Saman Villas Induruwa, Neptune Hotel Beruwala,
Heritance Ahungalla, Club Bentota, Amaya Lake Dambulla & Amja Travels.
Apart from the overall championship trophies for the winning team and
the runners-up team, Special Awards will be presented to men & women
with best performances in all three categories (novices, veterans &
championship) and the mens and womens relays.

M. M. Ali Kamil, Head of Human Resources, Sri Lankan Airlines will be
the Chief Guest at the awards presentation, while Ajith Fernando,
Chairman Sports Council, Sri Lankan Airlines will be the Guest of
