Applications called for Shankar competition
COLOMBO: Children born on or after January 1, 1991 can enter
the Shankar International Children's Creations Competition of India for
2007 through the Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Ministry, the
Cultural Affairs Ministry said in a release yesterday.
No levy is imposed to enter the competition and competitors can send
in their paper entries of paintings, drawings, essays, short stories or
dramas on any topic of their own choice.
Entries can be personally delivered at the Department of Cultural
Affairs, 8th Floor, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla on or before December 20.
Only children who are citizens of Sri Lanka can enter the competition.
Details of the competition can be obtained from the Foreign Cultural
Relations Division of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and National
Heritage, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla.
The painting or drawing of excellence will be entitled for the Indian
Presidential Gold Medal while other creations of distinction will be
awarded "Shankar" mementoes.
The best paintings, drawings and literary creations will receive
Javaharlal Nehru Gold Medals, Silver Medals, prizes, trophies and
certificates. |
