Tea production details - October 2006

COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka Tea Board announced that, the total reported production of tea in Sri Lanka during October 2006, amounted to 21,581,558 kg as against 26,157,089 kg, produced during the corresponding month in 2005. This shows a decrease of 4,575,531 kg or 17.5%.

The total tea production during the period January to October 2006 amounted to 259,694,571 kg, as against 267,084,503 kg, produced during the corresponding period of 2005, shows a decrease of 7,389,932 kg or 2.8%.

The elevation-wise break down of Tea production and total Tea production in October 2006 and the total production during January to October 2006 along with the corresponding figures for the previous year are given below.
