Market continues to move up

STOCK MARKET: The stock market ended on a positive note yesterday as investor interest in telecom sector continued to boost the turnover.

The All Share Price Index gained 22 points to close at 2,713.94 points and the Milanka Price Index gained by 51 points to close at 3,664.80 points. The day's turnover was Rs. 489 million. The market capitalisation continued to improve reaching Rs.832 billion.

Dialog share increased by Rs.1 to close at 25.75 with over 1.37 million shares being traded.

Over 5.6 million SLT shares traded yesterday but the share price closed flat at Rs. 28.75.

The latest entrant to the market Amana Takaful attracted retail attention and the share price moved up by Rs. 13 to close at Rs. 61.75. Over four hundred thousand shares changed hands.
