Strong Lankan contingent for FESPIC Sports Festival

SPORTS FESTIVAL: Sri Lanka will field a 81 member strong contingent for the Asia Pacific Sports Festival of the handicapped which will commence at the Bukeet Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur here today.

The Sri Lankan squad will compete in ten disciplines out of 19 events and are confident of winning at least 25 medals.

The athletic team will comprise of 30 members and the break down for the rest of the events are archery (3), badminton (6), cycling (3), powerlifting (4), rifle shooting (5), swimming (6), table tennis (2), wheel chair tennis (3) and wheel chair basketball (12).

Over four thousand competitors from 63 countries in four different categories will be vying for honours at this sports festival which will be concluded on December 1.
