Panchakarma system for out door patients
COLOMBO: The Panchakarma system of Ayurveda treatment hitherto
restricted to patients warded in hospitals is to be introduced to out
door patients as well in the future.
This follows successful research by the Nawinna Ayurveda Research
Institute recently, said Dr. Parakrama Hemachandra.
Although this research programme started by treating 50 out patients
on a trial basis, nearly 600 patients are receiving this out door
treatment under this system today and the Institute hopes to extend it
to Provincial Ayurveda hospitals too from next month.
He said the Nawinna Ayurveda Research Institute conducted a
Panchakarma clinic on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Foreigners are making use of it not only to treat illnesses but also
as a beauty therapy. |
