Kalutara Park SC in smashing win

SOCCER: Kalutara Park Sports Club did a splendid job to outplay Red Sun SC from Gampola beating them by six goals to three. This was a Segment B match of the Kit Premier League Soccer Championship which was played at CR and FC grounds yesterday.

Kalutara team was in the lead from the early stages and went off the field for lemons with a sound lead 5-1. Red Sun SC's loss yesterday is a big blow as they will slip down a step down from their position in the standings. Meanwhile Park SC moves up to occupy the fifth position along with Java Lane SC with nine points each.

Jupiters SC from Negombo and New Youngs SC are the leaders in this group who have collected 19 points each from eight games. Old Bens and Red Sun are placed 3rd and 4th with a tally of 18 and 11 points.

At present the battle is on for the top spot between Jupiters SC and New Youngs SC.
