TTSC's Beach Volleyball this Saturday
BEACH VOLLEYBALL: Confifi Group Hotels will once again sponsor the
Travel Trade Sports Club Beach Volleyball Championships, to be held on
25 November 2006 at the Riverina Hotel Beach stretch, Beruwala,
commencing 8.30 a.m.
The fourth tournament conducted by the Travel Trade Sports Club, has
the following as co-sponsors Mobitel, Black Knight. Singer Sri Lanka and
Fonterra Foods.
Confifi Group Hotels, who sponsored the inaugural tournament in 2002
has come back after a lapse of two years. The 2004 tournament was not
held due to the tsunami and last year it was sponsored by Jetwing Group
of Hotels.
Confifi Club Palm Garden, Beruwala are the reigning Champions and
Blue Oceanic Hotel, Negombo was last year's runners-up. SriLankan
Airlines won the "Plate" beating Browns Beach Hotel, Negombo and Golden
Sun Resort, Kalutara won the "Bowl" beating Blue Oceanic Beach Hotel
"B".
The twenty five participating teams are Club Palm Garden, Blue
Oceanic Beach Hotel, SriLankan Airlines, Browns Beach Hotel, Golden Sun
Resort, The Beach, Club Bentota, Lanka Princes Hotel, Hilton Colombo
Residence, Club Palm Bay & The Traveller Global (All have entered two
teams), Mt. Lavinia Hotel, Grand Oriental Hotel, Neptune Hotel and Hotel
Topaz.
The Official sponsorship handing over ceremony was held last Friday
at Confifi Management Services Auditorium at St. Micheal's Road, Colombo
