Air attack on two Sea Tiger bases

COLOMBO: Air Force Kfir jets pounded two LTTE Sea Tiger bases in
Wedithalathivu West and Kallaru South of Mannar yesxterday morning, a
spokesman from the Media Centre for the National Security said.
According to the MCNS spokesman Air Force targeted two Sea Tiger
bases in the West and South of Mannar. The Kfir jets pounded bombs on
the targets with surgical precision based on accurate electronic and
ground intelligence.
He said that the two LTTE bases suffered heavy damage.
In a separate incident two civilians were killed in Trincomalee town
yesterday at around 7.30 a.m.
"Two employees of Mitsui Company were killed close to the Sangama
police post in Trincomalee railway station road while they were riding a
motorcycle from their residence," the MCNS spokesman said.
The victims were identified as P.Ramakrishnan (44) and K.Thambi
Sathyaraj (24). The motive for the killings is not yet known, he added.
Meanwhile, one soldier was killed and three soldiers were injured
when LTTE cadres detonated a claymore mine in Varani on Tuesday evening,
the MCNS spokesman said.
