Jordan archaeologists visit Lanka
COLOMBO: A 45 member team of the Society of Friends of Archaeology in
Jordan will visit Sri Lanka, from November 24 to December 7, on the
initiative of Sri Lankan Ambassador in Jordan Dr. A.W. Mohottala. The
Society based in Amman, Jordan comprises Jordanians and other nationals.
They visit places of archaeological interest in Jordan and visit to
countries outside Jordan. Previously they have visited countries such as
Yemen and Egypt and they have selected Sri Lanka.
The group will be visiting Negombo, Anuradhapura, Pinnawala, Akurana,
Mihintale, Sigiriya, Habarana, Minneriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Matale,
Peradeniya, Nuwara Eliya, Tissamaharama, Kataragama, Koggala, Hikkaduwa,
Galle and Colombo.
