Mercantile Tennis Tourney from 27

TENNIS: The fifth annual Mercantile Tennis Tournament 2006 conducted by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) will commence at the SLTA courts, Green Path, Colombo on November 27, and will conclude on December 10. Last year's winner of the tournament, National Development Bank is the main sponsor for this event.

The tournament will be played under three divisions (men), two divisions (women) and two divisions for (masters). The age groups for the masters events are over 35 and 45.

Chief Executive Officer of National Development Bank Nihal Welikala stated that their main expectations regarding this tennis gala are to popularize tennis among the Sri Lankan spectators, socialize the participating companies and helping the employees to maintain good health.

Entries for individual and team events close today with the secretary SLTA. The draw will take place on November 24.
