Former Nalanda Principal dies
COLOMBO: A former Principal of Nalanda College, Colombo, Sugathadasa
Athukorala, 85, died yesterday after a brief illness. An old Anandian,
he entered Colombo University in 1948.
He had served as the Deputy Principal of Mathugama Ananda College and
later joined Mathugama St. Mary's College as Principal. He was also a
Principal of Horana Thakshila Vidyalaya.
He excelled as an educationist throughout his professional career.
The remains of Athukorala lies in his residence at Siridhamma Mawatha,
Colombo.
The body will be taken to Nalanda College on November 22 at 1.00 p.m.
The cortege will leave at 3.00 p.m. for Borella Cemetery on the same
day.
