Ranaviru Seva Authority assists war heroes
THE Ranaviru Seva Authority has organised a series of programmes at
provincial level to provide benefits to the families of war heroes who
have sacrificed their lives in defence of the country and disabled war
heroes and their families.
Under this programme children of departed and disabled war heroes
will be granted scholarships while housing assistance will be provided
to families and cash benefits to the next of kin of departed war heroes.
A press release by the Ranaviru Seva Authority said arrangements have
also been made to donate computers for setting up computer centres while
three wheelers and other equipment will be provided to disabled war
heroes under a concessionary loan scheme.
Under this programme self-employment assistance of Rs. 30,000 each
will be provided to 15 families and self employment loans of Rs. 50,000
each to another 15 families.
There will also be 1,000 scholarships of Rs. 12,000 each while loans
of Rs. 200,000 each will be provided to 31 disabled war heroes for the
purchase of three wheelers.
Fifty others will receive Rs. 50,000 each for setting up bathroom and
toilet facilities while sixty people will be granted housing loans of Rs.
100,000 each.
The provincial ceremonies will be as follows: Uva Province - November
18 at 9.30 a.m. at the Uva Provincial Council Auditorium, NCP - November
23 at 9.30 a.m. at the Vivekananda Maha Vidyalaya Auditorium,
Anuradhapura.
Southern Province - November 22 at 2 p.m. at Southern Province
Governor's office auditorium and Wayamba Province on November 26 at 9.30
a.m. at Lakdas Maha Vidyalaya, Kurunegala. The Central Province
programme was held on November 15 at the Central Province Governor's
office auditorium. |
