Foundation for Weerawila Int'l airport to be laid tomorrow

COLOMBO: The foundation stone for the construction of the
proposed Weerawila International Airport will be laid by President
Mahinda Rajapaksa tomorrow.
The ceremony will coincide with the first anniversary of President
Rajapaksa's assumption of duties as the Executive President of Sri
Lanka.
President Rajapaksa is expected to deliver a speech elaborating on
the progress made during his short tenure in office.
The construction of the proposed Weerawila International Airport will
generate over 10,000 jobs in the industrial sector. It would also place
Galle, Matara and Hambantota in a high potential to attract tourists.
This day, the public would be made aware of many development projects
initiated by the various ministries.
The ceremonies will conclude with the performance of religious rights
to invoke the blessings of the Triple Gem and the blessings of the
benign Gods on the President, the country, the Security Forces and the
public. |
