Tour: A five day familiarisation tour of Sri Lanka for Iranian travel agents is being organised by Kuwait Airways together with Jetwing Travels, Sri Lanka with the cooperation of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Iran, with a view to boosting Iranian tourism to Sri Lanka.

Twelve travel agents of Iran accompanied by two photo journalists will travel to Colombo on November 17 and visit places of interest and shopping malls in the city and follow up with visits to Kitulgala, Nuwara Eliya, and visit tea factories and plantations en route to Kandy.

In Kandy, the delegation will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, the Dalada Maligawa and other heritage sites including a visit to Hunas Falls.

Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Iran M.M. Zuhair said there is tremendous potential for boosting Iranian tourism to Sri Lanka.

The Mission is glad that Kuwait Airways together with Jetwing Travels, have come forward to host this important delegation from Iran's travel trade, he said.

At present over a million Iranian tourists travel to European destinations and another several thousands travel regularly to Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
