RCGC's Golf C'ship progresses

GOLF: The men's RCGC's Golf championship which commenced last Sunday has got past the quarter final stage, and this weekend will witness the semifinal and final matches. In the top half matches Rusi Captain beat M. Ismail 6/4 whilst in the other quarter final match, S. Ritchie got the better of R. Abhayaratne to go 2 up.

The finalists of the top half will be found after Rusi captain meets S. Ritchie. In the bottom half quarter final matches Mithum Perera beat R. Weerasinghe 5/4 whilst in the other quarter final of this half, Binupa Wijesinghe beat S. Fernando 5/4. The finalists of the bottom half will be found after the clash between Mithum Perera and Binupa Wijesighe.

It all points towards an interesting final stage of the RCGC's Men's golf championship which will be a stiff competition between Rusi captain, S. Ritchie, Mithum Perera and Binupa Wijesinghe.

Jackie Dias RCGC's Golf Champ

In the RCGC's Lady Golf championship for the year 2006, the semifinals saw Jackie Dias get the better of Suwen Selvaratnam 4/3 - while Shayanika Fernando beat Anouk chitty on the 19th. In the finals Jackie Dias beat Shayanika Fernando 7/6 to be the lady champion of the RCGC for the 2006.
