Treatment for drug addicts, mental health patients

COLOMBO: The Ayurveda Teaching Hospital in Borella has started a treatment programme for drug addicts and mental health patients.

"The hospital will hold clinics from Monday to Thursday for drug addicts and mental health patients," Hospital Director Dr. D.A. Sarath said.

He said there is an increase in mental health patients attending these clinics. Dr. Sarath said arrangement have been made to arrange visits by doctors to treat addicts with the help of the Institute of Indigenous Medicine.

A food package consisting nutritious food items for pregnant mothers and children will be distributed among the needy from next month.
