President meets new Viharadipathi

COLOMBO: President Mahinda Rajapaksa met new Viharadipathi Ven Kirinde Dhammaratna Nayaka Thera at Temple Trees yesterday.

Ven. Kirinde Dhammaratna Thera succeeded the late Chief Sanghanayake Kirinde Dhammananda Thera for Malaysia and Singapore.

Ven. Dhammaratna Thera who was also the Viharadhipathi of the Malaysian Wykfil Bauddha Maha Viharaya, has been engaged in special Dharmadhutha services for around 30 years.

He had also assisted Sri Lanka when it was affected by the tsunami. The Thera lauded President Rajapaksa's service to the Buddha Sasana.

Sri Lanka Dharma Chakra Padanama Secretary Ven. Dr. Pallewala Saratha Thera was also present at the meeting.
