KDCA wants clubs to play in Div. 3

CRICKET: The new administration of the Kandy District Cricket Association requests the cricket playing clubs participating in the Division 3 cricket tournament by the Kandy District Cricket Association in the Kandy region on behalf of the Sri Lanka Cricket provide them with the names of the office bearers elected at their Annual General Meeting held for the current year.

Kandy District CA emphasises that these details are necessary to update their records so that they could deal with the legally elected officials for the current year in official matters.

They should also provide their Bank Account Numbers and the name of the bank in which their account is operated.

These details should be furnished on or before October 21 to the Secretary, Kandy District Cricket Association, C/o Thai Collection, 84 Kotugodella Vediya, Kandy. Telephone: 081-2202808 where further details could be obtained.

The Secretary of the Kandy District Cricket Association Roland Perera said that the updating of the records is necessary as this compels the clubs to hold their Annual General meetings and submit their accounts.

Further they could deal with the legally elected officials. All clubs are expected to hold their election of office bearers every year so as to ensure that they not only play matches but also that internal problems are sorted out by electing new officials to key posts like President, Secretary and Cricket Captain as otherwise the same officials will try to continue in office and this should be only with the consensus of the majority of the members of a particular club.
