Top three teams looking for wins

SOCCER: Negombo Youth Sports Club the table leaders in the Kit Premier League Soccer Championship take on Renown Sports Club in the Kit Premier League Soccer Championship now in progress today at the Sports Ministry ground at 4.00 p.m.

This game is one of the most vital for Negombo team. A victory in this game for Negombo will definitely put them right on top of the table.

At present three teams on equal points (13) are Ratnam SC, and Blue Star SC from Kalutara. A draw here will give the other teams the opportunity to make a head way in this round. But last years Kit Premier League Champions Negombo Youth SC will not find it that hard as the Renown team has not fared well so far in this tournament. With almost seven national players doing services for the Negombo they should have it easy.

Ratnam SC the Club from Kotahena who are also with 13 points too are looking to make their way to the top position with a win against Blue Star SC who are tied with Negombo YSC and Ratnam SC also with the same number of points. This game is scheduled to be kicked off at the CR & FC ground tomorrow at 4.00 p.m.

A prediction cannot be made in this game as both teams are equally balanced. Ratnam SC the last years runners in this tournament and the Blue Star SC 2004 winners will have a tough time in taking the game in one's favour which also could decide the second and third slots for the coming week.

In a another Segment 'A' fixture Kandy York SC is scheduled to play against Sri Lanka Air Force at CR & FC ground today at 4.00 p.m.

On Sunday Sri Lanka Police will take on Sri Lanka Army in a another Segment 'A' game at Police Park. This game too is to be kicked off at 4.00 p.m.
