HC fixes date for hearing Duminda Silva case

COLOMBO: UNP Western Provincial Counsellor Duminda Silva was
served indictment at the Colombo High Court yesterday for alleged
abduction of a person at Bambalapitiya on August 6, 2004. High Court
Judge Deepali Wijesundara granted him two personal bail of Rs. 100,000
and Rs. 10,000 cash bail.
Attorney General's Department indicted Duminda Silva with five counts
including conspiring on August 6, 2004 with others unknown to the
prosecution with an intention to abduct R.A. Francis de Silva at
Bambalapitiya and committing the offence as a result of the conspiracy.
According to the counts Duminda Silva had abducted D. C. S. Kumara
Dunusinghe at the same time when Francis Silva was abducted.
The Court fixed January 17, 2007 for hearing of the case. Attorney
Nalin Ladduwahetti appeared for the Defence. |
