New degree programme at Moratuwa University

MORATUWA: University of Moratuwa has started a new undergraduate degree programme "Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science in Transport and Logistics Management (BSc (TLM) Hons.)" from 2006.

Transport and Logistics is concerned with the management of the movement of passengers and the flow of goods and information through the value chain from materials acquisition at production to its final consumption.

Land, air and water transport directly and indirectly employs over one million making up around 20% of the employment in Sri Lanka. Of this there are estimated 2,000 to 3,000 executive positions at present, requiring high degree of management skills.

The student intake from the 2006 GCE (A/L) Examination would be limited to 50 students.
