DHL wins Technology Agents, Protection assn. award

WIN: DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, has won the Technology Agents, Protection Association (TAPA) award last week.

Country Manager, DHL Sri Lanka, Martin Dudek told "Daily News" that this award is presenter is a clear sentiment of their service.

He said that the DHL is celebrating 26 years of service in Sri Lanka.

DHL built 25 two-storeyed houses in Seenigama with the novel concept.

The recipients of the houses are permitted to rent out or commence a business downstairs while residing in up-stairs which would bring an extra income for them.

He said that they will also be opening their state-of-the-art office complex early next year to provide an even better service for their customers.

The DHL has also been recognised and applauded by readers of Lloyd's Freight

Transport Buyer Asia (FTB Asia) at the Asia Logistics Awards 2006 for its Innovation, service excellence and commitment to providing customers with superior express and logistics solutions.

DHL was named Express Operator of the Year, Airfreight Forwarder of the Year, and 3PL Operator of the Year, the only company to be conferred with multiple awards this year, thus reinforcing DHL's position as the market leader in the express and logistics industry in Asia Pacific.

DHL was also a finalist in 3 other categories: Sea Freight Forwarder of the Year, Project Forwarder of the Year, and Ethical Responsibility.

The criteria for Express Operator of the Year focused on reliability, cost and level of customer service."
