Cisco enhances focus in Sri Lanka

EXPANSION: Cisco Systems Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, announced the expansion of their Colombo office team, to enhance the Company's presence in Sri Lanka.

The ramp-up is in line with Cisco's strategy to enhance focus and strengthen its customer engagement in Colombo and neighbouring regions. Cisco systems also announced the appointment of Rajkumar Natarajan as the new Country Manager of Sri Lanka, who will be responsible for driving growth in the region.

Rajkumar Natarajan, has spent more than 5 years in Cisco and just recently was managing the Service Provider Industry for Cisco across South India and Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the announcement, Senior Vice President-Enterprise, Cisco Systems (India & SAARC), Jangoo Dalal said, "We have seen significant growth in the Sri Lanka region in the recent past, particularly in the service Provider, Banking and Small Medium Business (SMB).

The key reason for this growth can be attributed to global ambitions of these businesses. Hence, it's important for us to enhance our presence to effectively tap and manage this region. With an office in Colombo we will be closer to our customers, thus improving responsiveness and speed of deployment."

Cisco Systems has already added over 18 partners and plans to augment its sales force in the region to service the customers in Sri Lanka. Local presence of Cisco officials will help the company leverage the huge potential of the Sri Lankan market. Cisco Systems has also expanded its work office to 8 members to support the growing needs of the local market.
