Lake House athletes excel at Nationalised Services meet

ATHLETICS: Lake House won several events at the Nationalized
Services Athletic Festival which was worked off at the Sugathadasa
Stadium, recently. The overall champions were Ceylon Transport Board
while People's Bank and Lake House clinched the second and third places
respectively. National Water Supply and Drainage Board finished joint
third with Lake House.
Pubudu Kithsiri of Lake House put up a good effort to clinch the
Triple Jump and he went on to win 200 metres second place and gave a
good start to win the third place in the 4x400 metres relay.
K.M.I.S. Bandara, Chaminda Peiris M.K. Wickramsinghe of Lake House
put up a good team effort to win the 3rd place in 4x100 along with
Pubudu Kithsiri. Another victory for Lake House was brought by Kasun
Jayasooriya who won the third place in the High Jump.
In over 40- 400m A. Subasinghe won the second place and Shayam Kumara
won the 1500 meters second place. In over 50- 100 metres Bandara
Vidurasinghe won the second place and the victory for Lake House came
from 4x400 m when they finished third. The Lake House team was coached
by Suresh Denipitiya.
Assistant General Manager Bank of Ceylon and President, Nationalized
Services Board of Sri Lanka W.A. Sarath Wimalaratne was the chief guest
while President Low Lying areas Development Board Somaweera Chandrasiri
was the special guest at this special occasion. |
