Banuka excels for Royal

CRICKET: The under 17 division one cricket match between Royal College and Sri Jayawardenapura College ended in a tame draw at the Sri Jayawardenapura grounds, recently.

For Royal College Banuka Rajapakse top scored 78 while Rameez Saldin contributed 34).

Royal College 212 for 9 wickets (Banuka Rajapakse 78, Rameez Saldin 34, M. Wickramasinghe 22/3, M. Perera 56/4).

Sri Jayawardenapura College 150 for 8 (K. Dilupa 53).

Sahan - 89

Royal College had to be satisfied with a first innings win over President College, Kotte in their under 17 division one cricket match concluded at the Royal College grounds, recently.

Sahan Hettiarachchi with 89 and Krishan Gunaratne with 73 not out were the top scorers for Royal while S.S.de Silva scored 79 for President College.

President College 210 for 9 wickets (S. S. de Silva 79, Kanishka Boteju 5/49, Kulsith de Silva 2/38).

Royal College 230 for 4 (Sahan Hettiarachchi 89, Krishan Gunaratne 73 not out, G. Dilshan 2/52).

No decision

The under 17 division one match between Nalanda College and Royal College played at the Royal College grounds, recently ended in a no decision.

Drawn match

St. Peter's College held Royal College to a draw at the Royal College Grounds recently.

Good batting performance for St. Peter's came from A.Perera who scored 82 and S.Ranasooriya with 59 while Sahan Hettiarachchi contributed 64 for Royal.

St. Peter's College 269/9 (A. Perera 82, S. Ranasooriya 59, K. Withanage 3/56, K. Boteju 2/10).

Royal College 215/9 (Sahan Hettiarachchi 64, Banuka Rajapakse 38, C. Fernando 2/66, A. Perera 2/34).

First innings win

Royal College overcame St. Anthony's College on the first innings in their under 17 division one cricket match played at Royal College grounds, recently.

Royal College 218/7 (Banuka Rajapakse 38, Kanishka Boteju 40, Chamath Dharmasiri 41 not out, C. Sanjeewa 64/4, N. Madushan 37/2) and 130 for 4 (Krishan Gunaratne 53, Sahan Hettiarachchi 43).

St. Anthony's College 154 all out (S. Sanjeewa 25, I. Perera 24).

A tame draw

The under 17 match between Royal College and Carey College eneded in a tame draw at Railway Grounds, recently.

K. Withanage put up a good batting performance with 84 while Chamath Dharmasiri made 73 not out and Banuka Rajapakse scored 54 for Royal while A. Ajireen with 51 and N. Sawal with 44 were the main scorers for Carey College. C. Dharmasiri claimed 3 wickets for 43 for Royal.

Royal College 291 for 7 (K. Withanage 84, Chamath Dharmasiri 73 not out, Banuka Rajapakse 54).

Carey College 252 for 8 (A. Ajireen 51, N. Sawal 44, C. Dharmasiri 3/43, A. Bandara Rajapakse 2/41).
