Six more LTTEers surrender

WELIKANDA: Six more LTTE cadres including a trained terrorist surrendered to the military yesterday seeking protection from the ruthless outfit, the SL Army Website reported yesterday.

All cadres except one in the age group of 22 to 24 years, gave themselves up at the Home Guards point at Rideetenna, Welikanda, running away from their military stations in Vakarei. The age of the sixth one was not immediately known.

They were to be produced before the magistrate last evening and subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities in cooperation with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC). The SLMM was to be intimidated.
