Kelaniya toxic hospital to be developed

KELANIYA: 'Services by the Kelaniya Toxic hospital and the Medical
College affiliated to it for decades are commendable and as such State
patronage would be extended in near future for its development', said
Ayurveda Commissioner, Ms. R.P.W. Gunawardena on the occasion of the
admission of new students to the college.
Since the College remains affiliated to the hospital students are
much benefitted in this practical studies. As the space available is
limited measures would be taken to provide additional accommodation.
As special provision is made in the Mahinda Chintanaya to assign the
pride of place to Ayurveda, we are duty-bound to develop it. As a token
of patronage, the Commissioner handed over a cheque for Rs. 60,000/- to
the hospital superintendent, Dr. Mrs. Pathiraja. The Commissioner
assured that further assistance would be provided in consultation with
the Indigenous Medicine Minister Tissa Karalliyadda.
I was impressed by sense of discipline instilled in the minds of the
students of the college. The honour should go to the College staff who
has been able to maintain discipline at such a high standard, the
Commissioner stressed.
Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ms. Pathiraja said despite numerous
difficulties experienced in the past, efforts have been taken to provide
the necessary services to the public. Ven. Thelagapatha Dhammakitti
Thera, Dr. Cooray, President, All Ceylon Ayurvedic Practitioners'
Association, General Secretary Dr. Sayakkara and several others
participated. |
