Helping hand for children to reach beyond the estate boundaries
CSR PROJECT: Talgaswella Estate owned and managed by Aitken Spence
Plantation Managements Limited together with the estate's welfare
society donated school uniforms and books to deserving children of its
workers at a ceremony held at the estate premises on August 26.
Productivity consultant Lal Fonseka delivered the keynote speech of
the day. The main focus of the speech was directed towards the large
number of children who were participating at the occasion. Fonseka urged
all the students to use the resources that are available to them
efficiently and effectively to succeed in their life.
Managing Director of Aitken Spence Plantations Management and
President of the Tea Association of Sri Lanka, Dr. Rohan M. Fernando
pledged continued support to uplift the living conditions of estate
workers and their children. Chief Executive Officer of Aitken Spence
Plantation Managements Ltd. A. L. W. Goonewardana was among the guest
participants at the occasion.
During the occasion, students displayed their talents by performing
several attractive stage dances for both Sinhala and Tamil songs. Happy
faces of participants showed the overwhelming gratitude for the
organisers of the event.
DGM, Cluster 1 A. G. Geethkumara and his team at Talgaswella Estate
organised this event in line with reopening of the estate's rubber
