The 8-week programme included classroom training in Katunayake and 10
days of on-the-job training at SriLankan's ticket office at the World
Trade Centre, Reservations Department, and Skywards. The programme
covered both Basic Fares and Ticketing, and soft skills that would be
useful for participants in many types of careers.
"This programme provided a very useful service to youngsters who want
to learn appropriate skills to enter the aviation and travel industries,
and also obtain a recognised qualification," Training Manager Chinthaka
Kulatilleke said.
The award ceremonies were attended by managers and executives of
SriLankan's ticket offices, with the Chief Guest being Customer Service
Manager (Colombo Ticket Office) Meena Lee, and Head of Human Resources,
Sunil Dissanayake, for the first and second ceremonies respectively. |
