Nihal Perera appointed consultant to a China city
APPOINTMENT: The party committee of the government of Lincang,
had taken the tourism industry as a new important industry and has
appointed Nihal Perera as a Consultant for Lincang city Travel
Development.
A former Director of the Sri Lanka Tourist Board, Perera is the
current President of the Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka. "This
also gives a good opening for Sri Lanka as well," he said.
This is to help and develop the travel tourism and other related
aspects of the tourism industry to be developed as a new important
industry of Lincang. Lincang city is linked to the border of Burma and
is accessible from Kunming in Yunan Province. The city welcomes foreign
investments for development of tourism, tea and other tourism related
services.
Situated in South West of China, Lincang is a piece of treasure land
whose name is derived because of its proximity to Lincang river. Lincang
prefecture administers eight counties under its jurisdiction and there
is a total population of 22,650,000 with 23 ethnic minorities. |
