Trinity parade begins today
PARADE: Trinity College Kandy has long been hailed as the country's
foremost institutions of learning and has the distinction of being
recognized as the cradle of rugby in Sri Lanka. The school has a long
and illustrious rugby history and this year marks 100 years of rugby at
Trinity College Kandy.
To celebrate and commemorate this centenary year, the Trinity Rugby
Scrummage together with the old boys have organized The Great Trinity
Parade to be held on 21 and 22nd September- a fun filled event
comprising a parade of vintage cars, bikes, fancy cars, cyclists and
runners taking to the streets from Colombo to Kandy.
The event will kick off at Royal College Sports Complex on Thursday
the 21st at 3pm, and continue with different batches joining in from the
several pitstops, throughout the route up to Trinity College. Dinner
will be at Nittambuwa from 7-9 p.m. and the Breakfast pit stop will be
at Kegalle at 8 am on Friday the 22nd of September .
The Grand finale will be on 22nd September with the Parade taking off
from Getembe Grounds along the streets of Kandy ending at Trinity
College. This is bound to be a colourful event with the Trinitians - the
school children and old boys being escorted by a fleet of vintage cars,
adding vitality and flamboyance to the event. |
