LTTE weapons seized in Sampur
SAMPUR: The Army in a clearing operation launched in the general area
of Sampur yesterday recovered a large consignment of arms and ammunition
that belonged to the LTTE.
The search operation conducted by the soldiers of Sixth Vijayaba
Infantry Regiment recovered 350 82mm mortar bombs, 600 fuses and 75
chargers used for these mortar bombs.
In addition, 315 60mm mortar bombs, 11 anti tank mines and 50 anti
personnel mines have also been seized during this clearing operation
conducted in the General area of Sampur, the Media Centre for National
Security said. |
