Donation of Saudi dates
COLOMBO: The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated
100 metric tons of dates to the government of Sri Lanka to be
distributed among Muslims of Sri Lanka on the occasion of the forth
coming Holy month of Ramadan.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Sri Lanka Mohammed
M. Al Ali officially handed over the dates to Minister of Transport,
Railway, Petroleum and Petroleum Resources A.H.M. Fowzie during a
ceremony held on Saturday, September 9 at the Ministry of Petroleum and
Petroleum Resources in Colombo.
First Secretary of the Embassy Talaat H. Shera, the Representative of
the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Omar Abdullah Al
Khattaf, Minister of Disaster Relief Services Ameer Ali Shihabdeen,
Member of Parliament Faizer Musthafa and Director of the Department of
Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs M.I. Ameer were also present. |
