Exciting win for Delmege

CAGER: Delmege Group 'A' team put up a fine performance to register an exciting 90 points to 83 points victory over DFCC Bank in their Mercantile Services Basketball Association semi league tournament 'A' division fixture played at the Otter Aquatic Club courts yesterday.

The winners took a close 43-38 lead at half time with good contributions coming from S. Yasaratne (11), M. Danushka (15), P. Pushpakumara (18), R. Randima (12) and S. Perera (12).

M. Saranapala (17), R. Subash (17), E. Dassanayake (16) and G. Meedeniya (14) figured in a vain attempt for DFCC Bank.

In a 'B' division tournament match Ranawana and Company Limited trounced Delmege 'B' team 95-67 after leading 41-36 at half time. S. Nishantha (20), B. Perera (16) and A. Fernando (36) did the bulk of the scoring for Ranawana while S. Sydney (21), E. Sandaruwan (12) and L. Gunawardena (10) excelled for Delmege 'B'. (C.D).
