Delmege Shipping appointed RCL Agent
AGENTS: One of the best known names in the shipping industry,
Delmege Forsyth and Co. (Shipping) Ltd., a member of the Delmege Forsyth
Group, was recently appointed the shipping agent in Sri Lanka for the
prestigious Regional Container Lines (RCL).
Presently RCL owns and operates 41 container vessels covering more
than 70 destinations in Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. RCL
together with its two consortium partners, Hapag Lloyd and NYK have
commenced a weekly service through Colombo, where vessel calls are on
Mondays and will service the Far East Trade.
The recently introduced service known as the GPX service will have a
port rotation of Port Kelang/Singapore/Karachi/Colombo/Port Kelang/Singapore.
RCL will increasingly expand its feeder services and container liner
business in Asia through the provision of high quality containership
services with reliable fix day sailings, fast transit, the deployment of
modern and high specification containerships and customer service
information technology.
RCL fleet size ranges from 500 TEUs to 2600 TEUs. Strict manning and
maintenance standards for the entire RCL fleet are provided by
experienced technical team in RCL Shipmanagement, a subsidiary of RCL.
The shipmanagement company and the entire RCL owned fleet have
achieved ISM certification since 1998, well ahead of the mandatory 2002
ISM dateline.
Delmege Forsyth and Co. dates its origins to the year 1850. Delmege
Shipping presently acts as agents for tankers, specialized bulk
carriers, break-bulk vessels, and heavy lift carriers, passenger vessels
