ANCL felicitates medallists Deepika and Dumindu

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) felicitated two of
its employees - Table Tennis star Deepika Rodrigo and Soccerite Dumindu
Hettiarachchi who brought honour and fame to the institution and country
by winning silver medals at the recently concluded 10th South Asian
Games in Colombo.
Deepika won a silver medal in the Table Tennis Women's Singles and
team events while Hettiarachchi was a member of the Sri Lanka soccer
team which came up with a superb display before losing to Pakistan in
the final clinching a sliver medal.
The Chairman of ANCL Anil Obeysekera PC, speaking at the ceremony
held at the company's boardroom said that the two employees had brought
honour to the company by their superb performance and the Board of
Directors had decided to promote the two employees in recognition of
their achievements in addition to cash awards of Rs. 50,000 to Deepika
and Rs. 25,000 to Dumindu.
Productivity Advisor of ANCL Lal Fonseka said these two employees who
had reached the top in the sports field by training hard to improve
their skills was an example to the other employees as hard work and
perseverance could help them to reach the top in their chosen field.
Sanjeewa Siribaddana Director and Rohana Hettiarachchi Chief
Administrative Officer also addressed the gathering.
The felicitation ceremony was organised by the Lake House Sports
Club.
Mrs. Dhammika Sumanaratne Yapa, Private Secretary to the Media and
Information Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa was the Chief Guest. |
