Defence Secretary visits Regimental Headquarters

Ambepussa: Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, on an invitation from Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, visited the Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment at Ambepussa yesterday.

During his visit he laid the foundation stone for a new building complex that would house a modern gymnasium and a physiotherapy unit in the premises following an initiative taken by the Commander himself who saw the important need of the unit.

Rajapaksa appreciated the contribution and commitment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment soldiers as infantrymen.

He paid tribute to the soldiers engaged in defending the territorial integrity of the country. Rajapaksa also gave away gift parcels to disabled soldiers. Several senior officers of SLSR along with the Commander were present.
